From Ghosts to Giggles: The Best of Our '24 Halloween Costume Contest
As the air chilled and October came to a close, Oasis welcomed Halloween 2024 with a bang. The great hall of costumes unfurled, and as usual, our team didn’t disappoint. From the eerily creative to the wildly bizarre, it was the best kind of spooky spectacle.
First up, there was Pennywise, a.k.a. our brave, balloon-toting Masha who nailed the menacing smirk and hair buns so expertly that even the IT department shuddered when she passed by. Rumor has it that she offered office manager support only in exchange for souls that day.
Next, the “Holy Sheet” – a play on words that made everyone do a double-take. This wasn’t just any ghost; this costume brought an entirely new level of sass and divine irony. Draped in a table cloth with a halo perched at an unapologetically jaunty angle and sunglasses that screamed heaven but make it fashion, Vee’s spirit wasn’t just passing by – it was owning the afterlife runway. With peace signs and poses, she proved that even in spectral form, style and wit can walk hand-in-hand.
And, of course, rounding out the trifecta was Dan, decked out as his self-made “Dan’s Paradise Walk-In Casino.” Complete with a cardboard casino table strapped around him, playing cards in hand, and the proud grin of a man who definitely bets on himself. He might’ve won more costume contest votes if he hadn’t kept trying to deal everyone blackjack during lunch.
And what’s Halloween without some tempting treats? This year, our winners didn’t just walk away with bragging rights – they were rewarded with Halloween-themed prize bags filled with surprises. Packed with gift cards of different values and heaps of Halloween candy, these goody bags were the cherry on top of an already spook-tacular day.
Halloween 2024 proved once again that Oasis isn’t just a workplace; it’s a stage where our team’s creativity comes alive, whether in terrifying face paint, unexpected costume mashups, or a DIY casino that truly takes the house. Clearly, the audience had very mixed emotions about the costumes this year. Maria looks truly shocked and Leo was so petrified he completely averted his gaze.
Until next year, folks. And remember, when Halloween comes around, go big or stay home (with a sad, candy-less face).
